The Working Girl star has been going back and forth to Oahu since last month shooting three episodes of Hawaii Five-0, which is a remake of the 1968-80 series. CBS announced Griffith's addition to the show in August, adding that the star will be playing the mother of Detective Sergeant Danny Williams (played by Scott Caan).
The actress recently spoke out about the lack of parts for older women, and offered a very scathing critique of the industry.
"It is what I never thought would happen when I was in my 20s and 30s, hearing actresses bitch about not getting any work when they turned 50," she told Fox News. "Now I understand it, it is just different. In a lot of ways, [Hollywood] is a very superficial place. It is all about youth and beauty, for women anyway."
Griffith, who was making the publicity rounds on behalf of her new psychological thriller, Dark Tourist, at the time, continued: "You just have to keep biting and pushing your way through, doing theater. I believe in just being really good and working on my craft, which is how I started in the first place. I really like that as opposed to the fame part of it."
